Applauded like interpreter particularly communicative, Maria Perrotta makes herself known in important international competitions between which “Rina Sala Gallo” of Monza, the “Shura Cherkassky Prize” (2008) and the Competition « J. S. Bach of Saarbrücken (2004), award a prize to this last that imposes her on the international piano scene like the significant one interpreter wide successes of public and of criticism: « Maria Perrotta can exploit the resources of the modern piano without running into stylistic inexactnesses. The sound of vitreous transparence, the always perceptible weaving, the interesting articulation of the phrase have returned the Bach music in ideal way» (Saarbrücker Zeitung).
She records for the German Radio, for the Italian Radio and TV, Sky TV. Her live incision of Bach’s Goldberg Variations obtains the favour of the specialised criticism: 5 Stars of the reviews Amadeus and Musica, 5 Stars and CD of the Month of the review Suonare News, Prize of the Criticism 2012 promoted at the magazine Musica & Dischi.
In the October 2013 Decca publishes a CD with her record with the living one of the three last Beethoven’s Sonatas, that obtains the “5 Stars Amadeus” and Amadeus is chosen like better of the month at the review. The CD is reviewed with entusiasm at the English reviwe Gramophone in the October 2014 .
In the September 2014 her new incision goes out for Decca of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, which it obtains everywhere very positive reviews.
In the June 2015 she has recorded a Chopin Live Recital for Decca label, 5 Stars and “CD of the Month” for the magazine Classic Voice. In the February 2017 she has recorded a Schubert Live Recital for Decca label (Sonatas D 784 & 960, Grazer Fantasy D 605A).
Between her recent engagements the execution of the Well Tempered Clavier and the Art of Fugue of Johann Sebastian Bach, the Beethoven’s Fourth Concert for piano and orchestra op. 58 with the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Antoni Wit, a tournée in France and Italy with a program entirely dedicated to Chopin and several concerts with orchestra: the National Symphonic Orchestra Giuseppe Verdi conducted by Francesco Lanzillotta (Ravel’s G Piano Concerto) broadcast live by Rai Radio3, the Symphonic Orchestra Giuseppe Verdi of Milan conducted by John Axelrod (Scriabin’s Prometeo), the Orchestra of the Tuscania conducted by Pablo González in the Chopin’s Piano Concerto n. 2, broadcast by Rai Radio3.
Maria Perrotta studies to the Conservatoire of Cosenza, where she has been born, with Antonella Barbarossa and she gets a diploma with praise of the Conservatoire of Milan with Edda Ponti. There she obtains the Superior Diploma of Chamber music to the Normal École of Paris, improves to Imola with Franco Scala and Boris Petrushansky and in Germany with Walter Blankenheim. In 2007 she gets a diploma with praise close to the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome in the class of Sergio Perticaroli. She enriches her formation with Cristiano Burato and François-Joël Thiollier. She lives to Paris.
